Celebrating a year of DirectorPlus

Bill Doerrfeld | June 30, 2025

A special edition of DirectorPlus checks back in with past guests on their AI tooling strategies.

DirectorPlus is now one year old! 🎂 Over the past twelve editions, we've covered a lot of ground. But no matter the topic, AI was the elephant in the room...

So, for this special edition — a year after launching the series — I checked in with past contributors to gather uncensored thoughts on AI.

What have we learned? AI is a game-changer, but it's not magic. It takes intentional strategy to get the most out of AI in a software setting.

This one shares some advice on getting the most out of AI tooling, featuring stories and takes from leaders at GitLab, Yelp, DX, Spotify, and BÆRSkin Tactical Supply Co.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this story and to all the folks who keep reading these editions!

Check out the edition below, and be sure to subscribe to DirectorPlus... we've got a lot more goodies in the works.
