Report: Engineers still care about climate change

A clear majority of developers believe AI systems are contributing to climate change.
My latest for LeadDev covers a unique report from Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and GitHub, which surveyed 1k GitHub developers on their environmental attitudes. Read it here.
The headline? Developers want more sustainable AI, and most believe their employer should be doing something about it.
Engineers recommend various ways to do their part to curb IT waste: Using more efficient AI models, avoiding unnecessary GitHub Actions, powering data centers with renewable energy, adding energy-efficiency scores for projects, and more.
