Report: eBPF In Production

My report for the eBPF Foundation explores compelling eBPF case studies

Excited to share that my report, 'eBPF in Production: An Overview of Compelling Enterprise Outcomes Using eBPF', was published today. I authored this for the eBPF Foundation, an arm of The Linux Foundation.

In it, I showcase how eBPF, the doorway to the Linux kernel, has moved beyond experimentation. eBPF is now delivering real business results in production, and the data and case studies prove it.

The 20-page report looks at emerging deployment patterns for eBPF across networking, observability, security, and beyond. It gives technical executives and leaders an introduction to the possibilities of the technology.

Building on the compelling case studies the eBPF Foundation has published over the past year, the report includes four original case studies of eBPF in use at Netflix, Cloudflare, ByteDance, and Rakuten.

It also reviews tangible outcomes other organizations are seeing with eBPF, featuring a comprehensive overview of public case study data and statistics.

Thank you to the experts who synced with me to share your journeys with eBPF for this report:

- Chris Arges, senior systems engineer at Cloudflare

- Anjali Kanak, senior engineering manager at Netflix

- Chen Tang, cloud computing developer at ByteDance

- Dr. David Soldani, SVP innovation and advanced research at Rakuten

This one took time to assemble, and I really enjoyed putting it together and hope to work on similar projects in the future!

It may seem like AI agents are suddenly doing everything across industries. But in reality, the pace of agentic AI is moving carefully, and very deliberately, in highly regulated environments like finance and banking.
