There's been a lot of consolidation in the developer tools market lately. During the first half of 2024, mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector outpaced other industries, increasing by 42% year-over-year. For a piece for LeadDev, I looked into how this wave of tech shakeups is affecting the end developer.
The short answer is that the trend will likely result in increased costs and sunsetted product lines. But there could be some wins, like add-on features and boosting platform engineering. Check out
